Bluff-Cat
The Bluffing Cat in Boots
My master, you see, is a truly, truly remarkable gentleman.
By Katsuki Mitsumori
Profile
A clever cat in boots who, by pure smooth talk, dressed up his penniless master as 'my lord the Marquis.' Padding out stories and bluffing his way through every crisis, he eventually lost track of whether his own tall tales were even true. He rides the shoulders of people who inflate their achievements and pad out their résumés, tilting his feathered cap at a rakish angle to whisper—'Let's lay it on a little thicker.' His sword is small, but his tongue is the fastest-spinning in the whole encyclopedia.
Relationships with other curses
One of the 'Three Story-Padding Brothers' with mount-tengu The One-Up Tengu and Pinocchio Nosegrow. As a professional, he is quietly impressed by the bravado of Oz Overblow.
How to deal with this curse
Bluff-Cat embodies the everyday frustration of "fairy tales." Bottled-up feelings only grow heavier. The moment you feel it, give it a name and write it out — that is the quickest way to make it lighter. Noroi Nikki is a place to write journal entries that are not public to other users.
