Desperate to become human, he stacked lie upon lie until his nose grew so long it tangled with his own strings, leaving him a fully-extended lie that no one can move anymore. Now he feeds on other people's vanity and pretenses, his nose creaking ever longer. He and the one-upping tengu, Mautengu, compete over whose nose is longer, but it always ends in a draw, since both of them lie that they won.
Relationships with other curses
He and Mautengu are locked in an endless nose-length duel. The cricket spirit that pulls his strings is actually asleep, knocked out by Nemukebi's spores.
